New factory promises jobs for Haitians

A newly open Chinese factory is expected to employ about 600 Haitians, according to recruiters.

On Tuesday, a Domincian recruiting company, the M Group announced the grand opening of the Chinese company, Everbright Headwear. The factory is the first Chinese own facility in the country.

Everbright specializes in manufacturing of various hats and headwear including caps for the Major League of Baseball.

China also plans to invest $30 million into infrastructure for Haiti. The bond includes the installation of a power plant, new roads, markets and apartment complexes. Read more on the agreement from Huffingtonpost.
